Metro-East Lutheran is a private school located in Edwardsville, Illinois drawing students from the St. Louis metropolitan area. The team competes in Class A, the "small school" division, of the Illinois High School Association's State Championship series. The Knights also competes in the Gateway Metro Conference & Metro East Quad League. The team has been a participant on WSIU's Hi-Q TV program.

Metro-East Lutheran most notably won the Class 1A Masonic State championship in 2023 behind All-Stater, Silas Curtis. The team also won the 2023 Scholastic Hi-Q championship in only their second season of competing on the program decisively beating Carbondale in the semifinals, 770-320.

The team is coached by Shanna Covarrubias, who in 2023 was named IHSSBCA Coach of the Year in recognition of the teams recent accomplishments & emergence as a contender in the Metro-East region.
