Random Online Tourneys, known as "ROT", is a public Discord server which hosts a Quizbowl league with cash prizes.

The server, which as of August 2023 has surpassed 120 members, is managed by Joshua Li (Johns Creek, Georgia) and Nirmal Melam (Roosevelt, Iowa), supported by a team of admins and paid writers and editors, who produce the ROT set used in the league.

The ROT discord server plans to kick off the second iteration of their Quizbowl league starting in mid-December of 2023, with more info coming soon.

History

The server originally started out as a hangout place for Joshua Li and his friends (mostly) from Georgia. Known for originally having a Fruit Loops logo, the server soon rose to prominence through its hosting of casual scrimmages and games, with small cash prizes and Discord Nitro giveaways. In March of 2023, ROT Invitational I was launched, but was soon cancelled due to issues. The second iteration of the ROT Invitational, the ROT league, was launched in June of 2023.
