Random Online Tourneys (ROT)

Random Online Tourneys, known as "ROT", is a public discord server which hosts a Quizbowl league with cash prizes.

The server, which as of August 2023 has surpassed 120 members, is managed by Joshua Li (Johns Creek, Georgia) and Nirmal Melam (Bergman Academy, Iowa), supported by a team of admins and payed writers and editors, who produce the ROT set used in the league.

The ROT discord server plans to kick off their second season starting in mid-December of 2023.

History

The server originally started out as a hangout place for Joshua Li and his friends (mostly) from Georgia. Known for originally having a fruit loops logo, the server soon rose to prominence through its hosting of casual scrimmages and games, with small cash prizes and Discord Nitro giveaways. In March of 2023, ROT Invitational I was launched, but was soon cancelled due to issues.
