I could delete the paragraph about the tournament cost; though there was quite a bit of discussion about it on the HS discord, it wasn't really an "issue" at the end of the day. The botched protest communication was an important issue though, and should stay up (at the very least, to warn future tournaments not to repeat this mistake). I did edit the latter to have a less critical tone.

Would it be fair to edit this to point out that all of Aadi's concerns were in fact addressed, but he still prefers national tournaments that use mirrored questions, staff rooms with a single high school student, and do not make any real plan for online cheating? :I read through the forums thread again and all of Aadi's promotion of the ONCT came in his original post (before everything was addressed and, more notably, before HSNCT and ONCT happened), so I don't think it would be correct (or relevant) to state that he still prefers ONCT. However, I'm not at all opposed to noting that HSNCT did a much better job with double-staffing/cheating monitoring/professionalism than ONCT since I think that's an accepted fact. Would it be better to keep the page like this (forum thread and grogerranks links as "references") or to have each external link be embedded in the text (like most other pages on this wiki)? I think it looks best to have it all one way or the other

Is there a reason that the issues section of this page is so petty? It seems like most of it is trying to take cheap shots at NAQT.

Eric Yin (talk) 16:29, 29 June 2021 (CDT)
