Timeout

Timeouts are unscheduled stops to gameplay at Quiz Bowl Tournaments and are typically called by members of the playing teams or captains or coaches if those roles exist. They are normally used to rotate players in and out of matches. Different formats may have different rules governing timeouts and player rotation. They range in length from 30 seconds to several minutes.
