Alex Dzurick is from Fulton, MO, and graduated in 2008 from South Callaway High School in Mokane. He was a four-year varsity letterman in quizbowl. In 2006, his team earned 4th place in the state tournament. Alex was involved in establishing the March 2008 William Woods Academic Tournament. Alex is the current president and treasurer of the University of Missouri Quizbowl Club and has directed the 2008 Missouri Fall Academic Tournament, 2009 Tiger Bowl, and 2009 MFAT and will direct the 2010 Mort Walker Invitational, in addition to serving as a moderator for various tournaments statewide. He is a linguistics/sociology double major with a philosophy minor in his second year at Mizzou.
