I played scholastic bowl for four years at Glenwood High School in Chatham, IL, specializing in history and literature. I was co-captain of the team my senior year, and I made the Central State 8 All-Conference team as well as the IHSSBCA Macomb All-Sectional team my junior and senior years. I was also active in History Bee and Bowl my senior year, as I captained the two-man team that won the Southwest Illinois History Bowl and I won first place at the Central Illinois History Bee. I am currently the president of the Quiz Bowl Association at Northern Illinois University, and in such capacity also serve as the captain of NIU's quiz bowl team.
