Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

First off, congrats to Adam for qualifying. Come
back with the big bucks, and remember all the little
people, will ya :)

As a big game show fan (my
first g.s. memory was Thom McKee's 70-game run on Tic
Tac Dough many moons ago), I admit I was pretty
excited about this show coming on this summer. After
watching the first two episodes, I can proudly admit...I
like it!

The show tugs at you the
old-fashioned way...through sheer suspense. Will a player use a
Life Line, will he/she go to the next level, etc. The
questions seem to be on the easy side for me (only missed
one playing at home...forgot where Marlon stood on
the Jackson family tree ;) ), but we haven't seen
what the upper-echelon questions are like (Tonight's
show starts with a $64,000 question, so we'll
see).

As for Regis Philbin's hosting, he's actually
been decent, given the fact that he's...Regis Philbin.
I would have preferred a host from the classic mold
(Wink Martindale would be great in this set-up), but
I'll take what I can get.

 BTW, I'll find out
today if I qualified for a telephone playoff to appear
on Tuesday's (7/24) show. Playoff game is Friday.
Wish me luck!

 James
