Yes, it's boring, but in its defense...

1)
It gets younger kids into the game early. If the
questions are of a lower level, then younger kids can get
more than one or two questions right.

2) On the
other hand (no offense), do you remember how smart you
were when you were that age? I have a royally
difficult time writing high school questions because I
don't know what's common knowledge and what isn't for
that age level.

3) Remember to factor in
nervousness. Most kids, smart or not, probably are relatively
scared that they're appearing nationwide: making the
questions easier ensures that everybody gets some right.
While collegians and non-students may still feel
nervousness, imagine totally blanking and getting torched with
-$1,000. If I were ten, I would cry.

4) Jeopardy
usually has trash on all levels: since Nickeloden is the
number-one kids network, it's not a bad choice.
