Re: Quiz Bowl Upsets

1995 was the year GW gave Chicago A their only
loss of the tournament at PennBowl, and also the year
GW beat Jeff Johnson & Harvard at Princeton in the
semifinals. Although we won Princeton (still waiting for that
trophy we were proimsed ;-) we as usual found a way to
lose a three-way tiebreaker by five points to two
teams who we outscored by like 1000 total points at
PennBowl..hence although we had stats that suggested we were the
4th best team there (think we cleared 5200 total
points for the that tournament), we finished an
unofficial 17th. That was the story of most of my career at
GW...except at all CBI regionals where we never lost any
games in the three years I played (thanks not to me but
to Schmidt, Kline, Dinan, Vacca et. al.)and
Princeton...and Georgetown Cup II :p I always thought we
underachieved bigtime for all the talent we had...any other
teams people think are chronic underachievers? Besides
GW all those years?
