2003 NAQT ICT to be held in Los Angeles: A Bet

Hi everyone --

First of all, provided my team qualifies, I will attend the ICT in
Los Angeles. I have never been west of the Mississippi, so I guess
there's a first time for everything. Also, every once in a while,
the West Coast should get an ICT, and Los Angeles is a pretty
accessible location.

One quick question, before my "bet": has anyone experienced real
problems in getting a buzzer through airport security? I haven't
done it since 9/11, so I don't really know, and I assume the West
Coast site will need a good number of buzzers from East Coast teams.

Anyway, while I think it is fair to hold the ICT in LA, economically,
some teams like Sudheer's Illini (and especially teams from farther
east) will find it difficult to pay for transcontinental flight.
Further, it's probably not wise to book a supersaver flight until you
qualify (unless you know you are a Top 10-15 team).

So I am willing to bet that NAQT will _not_ fill its allotment of 64
teams. For the first six people (from six different schools) who e-
mail me at Geertgen22 at aol dot com, willing to take up this
challenge, I will write each of you a packet for your tournament in
the 2003-04 season should NAQT fill all 64 slots. However, if NAQT
does not fill all the slots, losers of the bet will have to write a
packet for the 2003 Terrapin Invitational Tournament.

That is all; for those teams who have yet to submit their packet for
the 2002 Terrapin Invitational Tournament, please do so soon :)
