Another thing that I don't particularly care for
about PAC is if you buzz early before the answwer
choices are give, you must give the answer EXACTLY as it
is written on the answer page. i.e. in the tryouts
last year for PAC, I had what I considered to be a
really good and early buzz and said, "Charles Evans
Hughs." -15 points for my incorrect answer because the
given answer was "Charles E. Hughs." That really pissed
me off because to me that punishes students who know
the answer but are afraid of negging so have to wait
until the choices are read. I don't know, but to me
that sort of works against the whole premise of
quizbowl. At any rate, our PAC tryouts are coming up I
think, so maybe I'll see some of you guys who went last
year if you go again.
