Word on the street from
a very reliable source (and College Bowl insider)
states College Bowl Incorporated filed for Chapter 11
Bankruptcy protection late last year. Apparently this is
verifiable by those who have access to the Lexis legal
search system or anyone in metro LA willing to peruse
court documents.
Can these facts be
verified?
Will College Bowl be able to continue to host
regionals and nationals?
What will happen to the game if
they do close up shop?
Is there a white knight in
the offing?
Will a certain quizbowl millionaire

I have received
information from a relatively reliable source (who does wish
to remain anonymous but is not wary of qb politics
so there's no reason why this contact should be
untruthful) that it is possible that ACUI/CBI may not be
running Regional tournaments next year. Whether this
presumed bankruptcy of CBI is the reason or whether it is
due to some other factor I have not yet confirmed or
verified, so please treat this statement at your own peril.
