Matt, I have to say I came very close to the field you predicted,
just looking at raw numbers and not trying to do any calculations.
Looking at the way our sectional panned out with respect to our
picks and to NAQT's bids, I think it is entirely reasonable to think
that strength of schedule (much like in the BCS) is a very important
factor in NAQT's bid system. Thus, Iowa gets to sit and wait
because the strength of our sectional cannot compare to those in
California and Chicago. I believe this is a fair way to go, don't
get me wrong, I just wanted to point out an observation in hopes
those better at math than me (read: most people) might have a shot
at determining the formula if they so choose. Kudos to NAQT for
determining such a formula in the first place.
