Also, though there's at least some bias here, I have to second the
defense of Jon Couture as TD. Most of what he ran took place after I
left the Boston area but from what I know of him (and the tourneys I
did see), I'd expect his were run with a great deal of care and
competence.
More specifically, the things the commenter complained about
(formats, prizes...) are actually complaints more properly directed
at the Boston University team, to the extent that Cooch more or less
went along with various traditions.
As an individual TD and club president, (intending no disrespect to
the people who came right before and right after him) Cooch
singlehandedly did a whole lot of good for both the BU team and the
New England area.
