TRASHionals Syxx: Prizes

Many prizes were awarded at TRASHionals Syxx. Along with the
MKEA prizes, the following teams and players received prizes...

(Note, I don't have player names and some team names here. This
is all from memory, so please close holes if you can.)

One other thing about MKEA...the team also received a Viva TRASH
Vegas prize package that included dinner for two (and a round of
drinks) at Molly's Buffet at Fitzgerald's Hotel/Casino; as well as
tickets to see the "Mac King Comedy Revue" at Harrah's and
ventriloquist Ronn Lucas at the Rio.

BATTLEPLANET!! also received a VTV prize package -- a 10-cent slot
voucher from the New York/New York casino, and four tickets for the
only topless afternoon show in Vegas, "Best of Bottoms Up" at the
Flamingo. They also took home the "Hollywood" board game package,
featuring Happy Days, Krull, The Hunt for Red October and Jumanji.

Another Michigan squad, Ed Martin's Dance Party, took home the
undergrad title (four unauthorized biographies of Hanson) as well as
top honors in the Carl Yasztremski bracket (four Ricky Martin
journals).

Finishing the top six after MKEA and BATTLEPLANET!! were...

Third - Spork River Anthology (business board games, including the
CB Radio Game, Foreign Exchange and Cartel).
Fourth - Don't Be Like Them ("biography-style" books, including a
novel written by Ivana Trump, the unauthorized bio of Jason Priestly
and the memoirs of Judge Mathis).
Fifth - Charitable Grant from the Jeremy Goodwin Foundation
(an "urban/rural" package which included the booking "Rapping with
Jesus," a bunch of monster truck Valentine's, and NASCAR Trivial
Pursuit).
Sixth - Too Lazy to Think of a Team Name (advice books, including
Head Lice, Dead Lice, the Rules 2 and How to Train Your Dog).

As mentioned earlier, Ed Martin won the Yaz, or B Bracket. Other
bracket winners included:

Jim Rice (Bracket C) - Talia Shire Fan Club won Mr. Magoo stickers.
Manny Ramirez (D) - Rap Coalition of America won a bunch of NKOTB
books.
Mike Greenwell (E) - Rally Monkey Knifefights won a bunch of NKOTB
books.
Troy O'Leary (F) - So Much for Shock-n-Awe won Royal Family
trading cards.

The top undergraduate player was Erik Nielsen of BU, who took home
the book "Warrior Angel" by Robert Lipsyte, as well as an autographed
photo of Lipsyte.

Top overall scorer was Kenny Peskin of Talia Shire and Friends,
who won the male version of a Wonderbra (don't ask).

The "Title 8" all-stars (Peskin, Nielsen, Craig Barker
and "Anderson" of the former Tony Shalhoubastank (I think), won
Yorkie candy bars, "the bars NOT FOR GIRLS."

The "Title 9" all-stars (Tricia Southard, Allyson Mondoux, DJ
Jazzy Lucy (NYU) and a fourth whose name I forget) won playing cards
with nude men on them.

The Top 10 overall scorers (the "Title 8" plus six others) held a
Yankee swap of audio cassettes, featuring works from Stacey Q, Stevie
B, Glenn Medeiros and Michael Bolton.

Dave Dornan (Tia and the TRASHmen) won the "Oldest Player" award
and took home the board game "Mid-life Crisis."

The mystery game show prize was won my Mark Dawson. Apparently,
the mystery man thought he was related to Mark and wanted to give him
something. The prize: an autographed photo of RICHARD DAWSON!!!

UTC took home the "Sportsmanship Award" for stepping up to play at
TRASHionals just two days before the tourney began. They recived the
CD-Roms "Daikatama" and "Tax Preparation 2001" as well as the
video "Beaks: The Movie" and a hockey blooper tape.

Charlie Steinhice took home the neg trophy, receiving a Time-Out
candy bar and an OJ Simpson joke book.

A player from Ed Martin's Dance Party (forget his name) won
the "Conservative Award" for having the best TU/Interrupt ratio. As
he's a conservative player, he won a copy of the 2000 Republican
Party platform as well as "What's Wrong With Washington?" a GOP take
on Where's Waldo.

Goodwin Foundation took home the worst neg with this...

   Right Answer: Kim Jong-il
   Wrong Answer: Dorf (on Golf)

They received a bowl of Pot Pasta.

Simon Fraser took home the "Long Distance" award, and received two
books, "Nine (Montreal) Canadiens" and "My Hot Talk," the book BANNED
IN CANADA!!!
