Cheap airfares to July 19 Canadian tournaments - 1 week only

This will be of interest to those who may want to come to our
Vancouver/Toronto tournament on Saturday, July 19, 2003 (we are a
humble tournament and don't presume that readers remember the date).

Air Canada is now offering cheap flights to Canada from United States
cities.  Example:  Miami, Florida, to Vancouver round-trip from
US$229.  Fares are good for travel until September, 30, BUT you must
buy your ticket by Friday, May 16, just a week from today.

As a reminder, this is a FREE open guerrilla tournament (every team
brings a packet with NO central editing, and players must moderate
during byes) in Vancouver and Toronto, with a final telephonic
championship game between the two site winners.  Since we actually

If you come, you can expect to meet some of the best Canadian players,
and you can decide whether that concept is rather demeaning to
Canadians or is a way of making the quiz bowl world more inclusive.

If you've met Canadian players on the circuit, you have probably
observed that we don't treat this game like it's life and death.  And
our teams are well known for ethnic diversity, as you might expect
since we come from a country with the first official national
multiculturalism policy, which is even enshrined in our constitution.

It may also be of interest that in the TRASH regional in Vancouver
last November, there were equal numbers of female and male players. 
The year before, there was a female majority among the players.
