That's what I thought.  Everybody was up in arms about it, then I posted
"hey, guys, this doesn't sound too legit", and the thread died almost as
if I had invoked Mr. Godwin.

A guy I know submitted an abstract to an American Astronomical Society
meeting ... they have more than enough room for all posters that people
want to present, so nothing submitted by a member is rejected.  It was
for the 'new technology telescopes' session, and he talked about the
Super Huge Interferometric Telescope.  Buy 100,000 Edmund Astroscans
(small, inexpensive 4" -- but decent -- telescope that a lot of rank
beginning amateurs have) and combine them into an array.  You have more
collecting area than a lot of Kecks! 

      Doug, who's waiting for radio astronomers to build the RBFA, the
Really Big F***in' Array.
