Tulane Info (Re: request)

Looking at the same web site where I verified N.C. State info,
www.collegebowl.com, where Tulane info is easily searchable, I find:

March 1, 1959 Georgetown 180, Tulane 170

(That would have been on CBS, with Ludden hosting. School newspapers
in your library from around that date will have details. Those alumni
are old enough to be rolling in bucks.)

Tulane won its Regional College Bowl tournaments in 1978, 1979, 1981,
and 1985; and finished second in its region in 1984. That certainly
qualifies Tulane one of the early powers in the first years of the
ACU-I/College Bowl tournament structure.

CBCI has made an excellent effort in recent years to get all known
team histories up. Some of the early stuff is still out there waiting
to be found, and it is hoped that campus libraries or collectors
somewhere may have kinescopes of the 1959-1970 shows, to add to the
half-dozen shows that are known to still exist.
