Just a short little add on to Hayden's post...
If one is so inclined to look, a place where someone might have
indexed student newspapers is the University library's special
collections/university archives department. (Univerity archives may
also be housed outside the library at some schools where it exists.)
They may also have old yearbooks, or heck -- maybe some old pictures
of the college bowl team!
Very interesting bits of university history you find in there, even if
you don't quite find what you're initially looking for.
