Duke March Madness Pre-Nationals 2004

For those in the Southeast who can't make it out to Truman State for
their competition, Duke University will host a pre-nationals
scrimmage on Saturday, March 27, using questions from the Truman
State University invitational.

Pricing is as follows:
$85 Base fee for first team
$70 Base fee for each additional team
-$20 for working moderator (fully functional in every way)
-$10 for working buzzer system
-$5 for working visible clock
Minimum fee $50 per team

People not affiliated with any team are also welcome to
volunteer/officiate the tournament. Depending on response and the
budget of the team, compensation would be a free lunch or dinner.

This is a preliminary announcement, but I intend to have the
tournament held either in the Social Sciences building on West Campus
or Carr and West Duke on East Campus, depending on the response and
room availability. Ideally we should start the tournament by 9:30 to
10am so that those who really want to can watch the NCAA tournament
(regional finals) by the time tipoff occurs.

The tournament setup will be dependent on the response I get. I am
amenable to running separate D1 and D2 brackets if there are an equal
number of teams of D1 and D2 that warrant such a schedule.
Otherwise, I plan on mixing all teams together for prelims and have
separate D1/D2 playoff brackets.

Responses should be directed to me, and I think you know my email
address by now. :)
