Re: Full Announcement: NAQT Alabama High School Championship

I failed to mention motel accomodations in Jasper, just in case
anyone needs them... There are 6 motels that I can think of right
off the top of my head, and all of them are within 5 minutes of
campus. There's the Super 8 - it's the 4 story portion of the old
Holiday Inn - It's at the west end of town on AL118. 205-221-3050
Right next to the Super 8 is the Budget Inn??? I can't remember the
name for sure... I don't get to that end of town often.. It's the
original two story portion of the old Holiday Inn... I can't find
the number, and the news reported a few days ago that the owner had
been arrested for selling drugs. The pros of these first two are:
Price, they're close to the only theater in town (walking distance)
and within walking distance of an Omelette Shoppe, and Victoria's
restaurant is in the Budget Inn and is a pretty good cafeteria style
place with a meat and veggie steam line. Cons - well, cons ;) and
they're old places.

Just down the road, a little closer to campus is the Days Inn 205-221-
7800, and the Holiday Inn Express 205-302-6400. These are both
pretty new and nice. There are restaurants right across the parking
lot (Taco Bell, Brew Brothers, Brangus Steaks, Rally's)

A little closer still is the Travel Rite Inn... Never seen the
inside, so I can't tell you too much. It's right by Jasper Mall
(Belk, JC Penney, Garfield's Restaurant) and the King Buffet
Chinese. 205-221-1161.

Closest to Campus is the Jameson Inn. 205-387-7710. It's a little
isolated, but you could walk to Zaxby's without crossing any streets.

There are a couple of small places about 10 miles either side of
town, ask if you're interested. For any of you who may be coming
from LA, (Lower Alabama for those of you from outside our great state)
If you wanted to stay in Birmingham, Jasper is about an hour from the
Downtown area, (45 minutes on a good day) so it's feasible to do that
if you'd like.

If I've forgotten anything, feel free to ask.
