Mid-Atlantic SCT Results

DI:
10 teams showed up for DI. We did a 9 game round robin, then split up
the teams into brackets of the top and bottom 5 for another RR.
Maryland, Swarthmore, and Virginia Tech made the top bracket
automatically. A four way tie at 5-4 between Virginia, Delaware,
Columbia A, and Georgetown had to be broken using a mini-round robin
of 8 tossup games (so as to limit the number of packets being burned
to 1). Delaware and Columbia A went 2-1 in the series and made the
top bracket; Virginia and Georgetown went 1-2 and did not.

Thus the proper order of teams from first to last is: Maryland,
Swarthmore (UG Champ), Delaware, Virginia Tech, Columbia A, Virginia
(UG), Georgetown, Rutgers, Columbia B (UG), Maryland B (UG).

After the 9 game round robin Jason of Virginia Tech, Guy of Maryland
A, and Roger of Delaware were top individual scorers and recieved
books as prizes.

DII:
14 teams showed up and played a 13 game round robin. Penn A
automatically made the finals by going 12-1; however Virginia and
Columbia were tied at 12-2, and played a 9 minute half-game tiebreaker
(all 3 teams seemed to be eager to get it over with and leave).
Virginia won the tiebreaker, and Penn A won the first game between the
two to clinch the DII Championship.

After the 13 game round robin top scorers were Zizou of Virginia,
Geoff of Delaware, and Raza of Columbia, all of whom also earned
books.

Stats can be found here:

%20Mid-Atlantic%20SCT%202004teams.html

If you look at the stats, you'll notice that while PPG, power/neg
ratio, and other stats are intact, there is no breakdown as to how
many powers, tossups, or negs each player or team got. While stats
were kept correctly and fully, as any team who saw them posted
physically would agree, there were some problems in saving the file
and transferring it from my teammate's laptop to my own computer in
order to post them. The SQBS save file was somehow corrupted (whether
by user error or bugs in the program I can't tell) and those numbers
were lost. I was reassured by an NAQT rep that the absence of these
stats will NOT affect S-Value calculation, but I sincerely apologize
for their absence nonetheless. If I can find all the scoresheets and
the time to sort and enter them I may make an effort to start from
scratch and post more complete stats.
