Beer Bowl IV

This a reminder. All the below information (and MORE!) can be found
at: http://www.uiowa.edu/~quizbowl/tournaments/beerbowl04.html

Who: University of Iowa Academic Quiz Club*
What: Beer Bowl 4 (mirror)
Where: Iowa City, Iowa
When: Sunday March 21, 2004

This mirror of Beer Bowl IV is a non-packet submission tournament
open to any and all teams, but a discount will be given to teams
attending the mirror that do write a packet.

If you do write a packet, we ask that your question packets be of a
difficulty caliber for approximately a first or second-year player
with some tournament experience. Packet submissions and packet
questions should be directed to USF's Rob Fernandez
(gamaliel8_at_...).

UIAQC will also be hosting a mirror of USF's Sun `N' Fun
Quiz-In
Academic Tournament on Saturday, March 20. If you would like to come
to either (or both) mirrors, please contact Andrew Juhl
(dr_pookman_at_...).

If you are looking to attend USF's tournaments, please go here:
http://www.ctr.usf.edu/quizbowl/

ELIGIBILITY:

The tournament field is open to anyone wishing to play. Teams
composed of collegiate Quiz Bowl players, Masters players or hybrid
teams (from different schools) are all equally accepted. Again, the
UIAQC motto applies: "You got a strong back, we can use ya.

FEES: Base team fee is $50. (Minimum fee with all discounts: $25**)

Discounts:

• Second team: -$5/team
• Third team: -$10/team
• Fourth+ teams: -$15/team
• Working buzzer system: -$5***

Note: We are not holding this tournament to make money, but to
bolster club proficiency at hosting tournaments and to increase
UIAQC's reputation and standing in the Quiz Bowl community. If
you
would like to attend, but have financial concerns, we are more than
willing to barter/trade favors in order to see your (club's)
attendance at this event.

PRIZES:

Prizes will be awarded for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd placing teams and
top individual scorers. In addition, a Hawkeye shot glass will go to
the "player" with the worst neg.
