Re: Ranking SCT performance

Never say that NAQT is not a company that can be
flexible, wants to do right, and can rectify an error.
David's identification of a factor we had in fact
overlooked in evaluating D2 statistics from the Northeast
sectional led us to the inescapable conclusion that both
Dartmouth and Rutgers, who were exceedingly close to
receiving initial invitations, probably should have done so
rather than being relegated to first and second
positions on the D2 waitlist. The NAQT ICT Committee has
quickly conferred and agreed to remedy the situation by
immediately issuing two new invitations to the D2 field, to
Dartmouth, and to Rutgers.

As teams decline Division
II invitations to the ICT (assuming some will -
we've never yet had 100% acceptances, though that would
delight us), we will not turn to the new waitlist for the
first two, thus returning to the desired 24 team field.
Should it happen that no teams at all decline their
Division II invitations to the ICT, we will adjust, and
accept a 26 team field.

Congratulations to the D2
teams from Dartmouth and Rutgers, who, it turns out,
ought to have earned initial invitations in the first
place.
