(replying to all in case other people have similar questions):

I'm fine with running this as an open event, but if it's going
to happen at all, it's going to happen as a secondary event
after some tournament. Right now, the best prospects seem to
be the Illinois Open tournament, the Beaver Bonspiel/Terrapin
Invitational tournament weekend, or waiting until next
summer's Chicago Open. I haven't talked with anyone about adding a
myth tournament to a tournament weekend, I'm just guessing that IO,
Beaver Bonspiel/Terrapin, and CO are the best prospects for gathering
a critical mass of interested players.

I'm writing questions from all mythologies. A very large percentage
(probably close to 50%) will come from Greco-Roman myth, but there
will also be questions on Norse, Egyptian, Indian, European, Asian,
American, and African mythology. There may even be a question or two
(out of a couple hundred) on mythology from Australia/Oceania. I'm
trying to write accessible questions on well-known topics so that even
non-myth specialists should be able to get most questions by the end.
If you've never heard of Zeus, this may not be the tournament for
you. If you have, and you don't detest myth questions, I urge you to
consider playing, I think it'll be fun.

If you have any questions, please let me know--my email address is

got something to say to everyone.
