Solitary Quizbowl Exhibition -- Need for Volunteers in Austin

Three years after my initial description of what I called "Solitary
Quizbowl" (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/quizbowl/message/11698), I
think I've finally come across a decent opportunity to give it a whirl
and see how it turns out. So here's what I'm proposing...

If there are a handful of teams at this weekend's TRASHionals that
would like to participate in the SQE, please write to me at zundevil
(at) Y! to secure a spot. Ideally I'm looking for about a half dozen
teams. All that is required of these teams is for them to play (with
no opponent in the room) on a trash packet after this Saturday's
round-robin is completed. This would take place during the usual
theme rounds, although it isn't a theme round per se, and would hence
yield to those prepared rounds.

These needn't be TRASHionals teams either -- just 3-4 folks looking to
hear a mildly longwinded but nonetheless well-written round. I will
be using the questions I submitted to last weekend's 2006 RC Cola
event, and so I suppose those who played at (or edited) that
tournament are ineligible.

Of course, any parties who find themselves all trashed-out (if that's
even possible) by Saturday evening are welcome to moderate in one of
the rooms. There would be a brief protocol review before the round is
read to the willing teams, but I think that's about all that's
different from regular moderating.

I can't say for certain how quickly or easily the "simulated matches"
can be "run", but after some non-trivial period of time and
spreadsheeting, I will report back to the teams (or the board, even)
with the results. And then we'll all smile and laugh.

So I guess that's about it. Please write back to my personal address
with questions, comments, or wishes to secure a spot.
