Re: Chicago Open: Good Editing

A couple of points of note here - on the "Bight
of Benin question" the first identifying pronoun was
"this bay," which automatically disqualifies Gulf of
Guinea and explains why there should be no prompt. Also,
on the phenylalanine question, the accept tyrosine
part was included to truly reward someone who has
knowledge about the biochemical synthesis of either amino
acid. This might just be a theoretical difference, but
I think those types of questions are ok in
moderation. As for your personal feelings about poetry, rap,
and biology, I can't comment other than go back and
look at the actual distribution as it ended up playing
out in the packets. You might be right on biology,
but I don't think so at all with regards to poetry
and rap. Out of the 17 packets, there were 3 rap type
questions - a tossup on "Back that Azz Up," a tossup on
"Friday," (which might not be taken as rap at all) and a
bonus on rap movies. If you feel this is too much, then
we are in disagreement. As for any other
criticisms/comments I'd be happy to respond.
