Something quasi-QB related :v)

This came up on alt.tv.game-shows in the past
couple of weeks:

Celador Productions (those
groovy folks who developed WWTBAM) are working on a game
show--to be premiered in Britain, then brought over here
to the states--called "The People
Versus."

While the rules of the show appear rather complicated
(the nearest I can tell is that contestants pick five
"specialist areas" that they want their questions to cover),
there are two interesting premises that makes it worthy
of discussion here:

(1) Like WWTBAM, it would
be a one-strike-you're-out show.

(2) Viewers
at home would get to submit the questions. The
author of a question answered incorrectly would then
appear on a future edition of the show. [The British
site states that the producers would "work with
question authors" to make sure questions are appropriate
for the show--whatever that means.]

Here are
my questions:
(1) Can this work at all?
(2) If
it can, how long do you think it'll be before the
circuit takes the show over? :v)
