PENN BOWL 10 Announcement

The University of Pennsylvania Academic
Demolition Team is proud to announce

PENN BOWL 10: A
BUZZER ODYSSEY

the nation's largest
packet-submission tournament. PB10 will be a timed tournament held
on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania in
Philadelphia, PA, on

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY, JANUARY
26-27, 2001.

Exact times and locations will be
announced later, but we expect game play to start around 7
PM on Friday and end around 7 PM on
Saturday.

A copy of this announcement, as well as the
registration form are available on the Internet at
http://www.pennbowl.org/pennbowl10

[But please note that at the current
time, this page is NOT accessible from the main PADT
site; that should be rectified within a couple of days,
however.]

*** WHO
PB10 is open to teams of college students
currently enrolled in degree-granting programs. Chimera
and other non-traditional teams may be allowed to
compete with permission of the tournament
director.

*** PACKETS
Schools sending one team are required
to submit a packet of 20 tossups and 20 boni. For
schools sending more than one team, the A and B teams are
jointly responsible for sending a packet of 36 tossups
and 36 boni. Schools may submit more than the minimum
amount required, but should e-mail the tournament
director for advice *before* doing so.

Also, please
be aware that teams that do not submit the questions
required by the regular deadline of 7 December 2000 may be
fined or dropped from the field at PADT's
discretion.

*** GAME FORMAT
The rules will be fairly similar
to past Penn Bowls; any major changes to the rules,
such as the inclusion of power tossups or lames, will
be announced by 31 December 2000.

***
TOURNAMENT FORMAT
The format of the tournament has not
been finalized, but we guarantee all teams the
opportunity to play 14 games.

The field will initially
be capped at 60 teams. As we confirm the
availability of equipment and staff, we reserve the right to
expand the field up to 75 teams.
