Re: Scholarship

Rose State College in Midwest City, Oklahoma
offered full ride scholarships to the members of the top
team in the campus College Bowl tournament and those
all-stars who weren't on that team. Since we only went to
three tournaments during the year, we also got per
diems, which came in handy in those small Kansas towns
where only the motel, tournament site, and liquor
stores existed. I don't know if those scholarships still
exist, since I don't know if Rose State has a team
anymore. OU supposedly has a scholarship for incoming
freshmen that have competed at quiz bowl, based on OU's
1960-something undefeated season at College Bowl. Again, that
may not exist anymore, since none of us here knew
about it until we'd already enrolled. That one is for
100 dollars.
