A brief history of the 40 pointer:
It was
invented by Kevin Olmstead, Mike Burger and Dwight Kidder
while reading through CBI packets. The question was
30-20-10, name the ocean. Dwight then took a shot, and the
40 was invented. It is worth noting that the
30-20-10, name the sex or 30-20-10, name the binary
response bonuses were later following this. mike Burger
then adopted the practice for the Ann B. Davis, but
the 40 had no clues, it just said "free guess." I
don't know where the 1 came from, not the five, but I
do know the 40.
