Re: Quizbowl Camp

I agree with Andy it was fun. I went in '97, the
last year it was at Wofford. It's not like you don't
interact with people and hang out (I know that's not what
you guys meant).

The ladder play for the day
time was good b/c you stayed around people who knew as
much as you. The night time was great b/c you were put
together on teams based on how you did in the rooms. A
player from the top room might have a player from the
4th room go against a team with a player from the 2nd
room and a player from the 3rd room. One night was a
geographic bowl...I think Missouri, Western SC, Eastern SC,
N. Georgia, S. Georgia, and a team USA consisting of
Oklahoma and the Virgin Islands had teams...it was
fun.

I didn't get to go to a lot of tournaments like
other schools, so I got to meet a lot of nice people
who I wouldn't have met otherwise. I met people who
went to my school at this camp and was pleasantly
surprised at meeting them here. Plus, you get to stay in a
college dorm (which for me was the first time). You can
look at it whichever way you want, but it was a
pleasant experience for me.
