As the
producers freely admit, the show is in a state of
transition procedurally right now. Producer duties are being
changed, and a lot of things have yet to sort
out.

That being said, my guess is that they'll take the
people 1) who are most likely to win big money, and 2)
have several things Regis can talk to them about, in
that order of importance. They WANT to give away a lot
of money - that keeps the ratings up. And they want
people who can talk to Regis about things, but they
don't seem to want too odd or bizarre things. Several
people at my audition tried singing, or telling some odd
tales, to impress the coordinators. I tried to be
myself. I got The Call, they didn't. For auditions, score
high on the test and be natural when you talk, and
you'll probably get on.

Also, a word to the
people who've auditioned and made it to the end, but
have not yet been called. Don't despair. Apparently,
they were in a bind to get contestants to tape this
weeks shows in a hurry. (In fact, some people from the
Miami audition got The Call two days after the
audition!) So they went down the list, and got the high test
scorers from each site who could go to New York on short
notice - and it also looks like they tried to mix it up
so that people from the same audition session didn't
tape the same show. In other words, a postcard and
Call may very well still come your way.
