Format wars etc.

Okay, a few comments

1. If you don't like
it, don't play it. There are plenty of teams to go
around.

2. We all have our own roles to play in a community.
Some choose to coach, some to play, some to host, and
some to be the top players. I have incredible respect
for anyone who does any of these well. I also have
respect for my fellow weekend warriors. Afterall, anyone
who can go and get their butts kicked from Evanston
to Ann Arbor to St. Louis, and show up the next week
ready to play is doing pretty well.

3. Adam and
various other Can. players that read this. I propose next
year that there should be a Canadian National
Championship (of whatever format). Afterall , a Canadian
players background and development is light years away
from what most U.S. players have. I'm not suggesting
they don't compete as normal, just an additonal
tournament with a bit more even playing field.

4.
Not all stereotypes are false (look in any social
psych book).

5. Plain old invitations based on
placement at sectionals is obviously flawed because teams
did not even finish in that order at the ICT.
Therefore, NAQT has the correct idea in setting up another
system.

6. If you want more creation questions
write them.

Okay, I know this is long, and
probably oversimplified, but then again is this really
that complicated.
