Rutgers Academic Challenge, IIRC, was _muy_
bizarro...it had i think 6 events, only one of which was
quizbowl; the others included building paper airplanes that
could carry ping-pong balls and such. After attending
the inaugural demonstration of it, I decided to not
participate in it...BTW, nice to see another Middlesex County
alumnus in the quizbowl community. That now makes 4 (St.
Joe's 1, OBHS 1, BGA 1, J.P. Stevens 1) Even though we
played in that weird no-buzzer, alternating-sides format
(a la Bridgewater), there is still some good
quizbowl in the area.
