It was just bad luck that
UF announced its tournament for Oct. 20 in the
24-hour gap between when UMR and UTC had agreed on a date
for Live Aid and when we announced it. UMR had two
possible weekends they could have held Rollapalooza, and
the other one was a weekend where I'd have my kids,
so that left Oct. 20 as the best fit for
Rollapalooza and COTKU.
I'm glad to see another program
willing to run a tourmanent in the Southeast, and I
always looked forward to the Sunshine State Invitational
in my playing days, when it was usually the weekend
of the M.L. King holiday. The Tennessee team always
had a post-tournament Sunday brunch at Szechuan
Panda, which I've heard has since gone defunct, so if
UTC is able to attend I'll need new restaurant
advice. Anyway. I hope it works out that we won't
conflict after all.
