Sunshine State Invitational - New date

In the interests of the Southern circuit, the
University of Florida has decided to reschedule our Sunshine
State Invitational to avoid conflicts with UTC's COTKU
and USF's proposed mirror of Illinois's Novice
Tournament.

The SSI will instead be held on its
traditional weekend - Martin Luther King weekend in January.
We haven't yet seen any tournaments announced for
that weekend and wouldn't anticipate any regional
overlap with Michigan's tournament if they choose to host
again this year. Georgia Tech's MLK tournament, which
took the weekend after we stopped holding SSI, was not
held last year and I have heard no plans in regard to
reviving it.

In addition the rescheduling of our
tournament will allow us to send teams to USF and UTC. It's
too early for solid numbers, but Jeremy: expect
three-five novice teams and Charlie: one or two
teams.

In summation, UF would once again like to invite
everyone to warm, sunny Gainesville (avg. January temp: 71
degrees) for the reinstitution of the Sunshine State
Invitational. There will be no packet submission required, all
questions will be written in house. Based on the response
we have already received, we will be awarding
separate Division I and II titles. Further details will be
forthcoming as we secure room reservations and the tournament
date approaches.

PS: Charlie, I
don't know your source but Szechuan Panda is not only
still serving out great Chinese food, they have
expanded and opened a new location on the North side of
Gainesville. We'd love to have you down in January.
