Re: Accuracy in Statkeeping

It's a month-old thread and possibly originally a
troll anyway but I did want to explore a flight of
fancy:

If quiz-bowl grew enough to justify the development
costs, I'd love to see a statkeeping system that also
let you store packs (or at least answers), so that
with only a modest increase in data entry one could
tell right away which questions were most frequently
answered / powered / negged and how teams did on each
bonus.

As always, a limiting factor would be how much data
entry volunteers are willing and able to do
well.

The even bigger pipe dream would involve bundling
this scorekeeping technology with some fancy buzzer
system. The sales pitch would claim that this system made
individual stats foolproof, though I imagine things like
which player held which buzzer would be potential
points of inaccuracy.

Maybe some day quiz bowl
will have a Project Rotosheet. Surely I'm not the only
one with five tournaments worth of scoresheets
collecting dust in my room. :-)
