Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on your
opinion, the Northwest is full of unusual variations when
it comes to Quiz Bowl. In Washington as was
previously mentioned, there three teams instead of two
during the oral rounds in the Knowledge Bowl. In
Southern Oregon, there is a circuit called Brain Bowl in
which one person can ring in, but the entire team can
discuss the answer before they give it. There is also a
show called High Five in Portland in which there is a
fifth person added as a Wild Card who can steal a
certain number of questions per match after the other
team has rung in. I hope that helps.
