Re: Martin d. PGA

Kristin,

"How would a blind player know
that it was their buzzer that had gotten through?
Wouldn't you have to bring in the CBI recognition rule to
all of those matches? And y'all know how much y'all
love that particular CBI quirk . . ."

We have a
blind player on our college second team (he's actually
really rather good for a frosh) and when we are playing
rules that do not use recognition, we have one of two
options:

1. If he has a buzzer with a bulb in front of him,
we remove the coloured cover on the white bulb. He
can then place his finger on the bulb if he buzzes,
and tell whether it is hot (not very!) or
cold.

2. If using different buzzers, we have one person
detailed to say his name if his buzzer goes first. This
can be a friend (non-playing), a team mate, or the
scorer. It's not nearly as cumbersome as normal
recognition rules, and we note that his time to answer does
not start until he has been named.

Hope this
helps,

Rob.
