I liked "The World According to Garp" and,
absolutely loved, "The Hotel New Hampshire", although I've
never been able to muster up any enthusiasm to read his
other novels (except for "The Cider House Rules", which
bored me for some reason), but then again, I usually
have to be dragged kicking and screaming and be forced
to read fiction. I much prefer nonfiction to novels.


I'm still trying to figure out Irving's multiple
obsessions with bears, rapes, and Vienna, though.
