OK, not to disparage anyone who has participated
in the Spelling Bee nor to disparage the knowledge
that this Minnesotan was kicking; but "congrats" to
Sean on winning a national newspaper promotional tool
that is often used to pressure children who show any
form of talent in this realm into an era of early gray
hair and ulcers.
Then again, if Scripps-Howard
sponsored a National Quiz Bowl tournament, I would probably
not feel the same way.
Wishing his ESPN moment
could have come as well.
