Re: Complete and utter FOISTage

Why can't you simply take the total of the scores in
the first two rounds, while maintaining the change of
rooms between rounds to allow for variety of
opponents?"

Another suggestion: take the sum of the *ranks* in the
first two rounds (ie in Adam's case: 1st + 5th = 6).
Then use Round 3 to break ties in the sums. This would
weight Rounds 1 and 2 equally.

Let me also take
this time to praise Adam et. al. for the
unconventional tossups we had in Capitol Punishment. Trash
tournament have been seeming more and more like academic
events lately. But instead of having a forgettable set
of questions we had: buzz in with your tossup count,
men kissing men, a tossup worth two hundred points,
one with the knowledge pyramid upside down, and
bikini wax. In my opinion, every packet should have at
least one quirk tossup.

While a 3/3 geek quota
did seem a bit high, one positive effect it had was
that we had a reasonable amount of video game
questions.

Also bravo the Canadian game shows bonus. Oddly
enough, at dinner Friday night I commented that I was
going to do that in my next packet.
