While I love video
games as much as the next guy, I thought there were
waaaaay too many video game questions. My team was
talking about this at dinner after the tourney and we all
agreed that this was more than likely the result of a
geek requirement that was too high. A 3/3 geek
reqirement forces teams with non-geeks to resort to "easy"
geek categories and I know (at least for me) video
games is that category. I kind of liked the geek
distribution used at Cancel Bowl where question writers were
encourged to merge geek questions into an existing
subdivision like movies, lit, toys/games, and the like. I
think that leads to better overall geeks question and
cuts down the percieved need to write a hackenyed
Asimov or video game question.
