ANNOUNCEMENT: Terrapin Invitational

The University of Maryland Academic Quiz Team is
pleased to announce once again the Terrapin Invitational
Tournament. The TIT will follow ACF rules and ACF packet
guidelines. The tournament will be held at the University of
Maryland Campus on October 26-27 2001. 

The field
shall be divided into Division I and Division II.
Division II shall be composed of first and second year
players who opt to play in that field, while Division I
will be composed of all others.

All teams in
Division I will be required to submit a packet. Division
II is not required to submit a packet, and each
division will compete on different question
sets.

The fees are as follows:
Div I:
First Team:
$100
Each additional team: $75
Early Packet deadline
9/7/2001: -$30
Next deadline 9/21/2001: -$15
No
penalty deadline 10/5/2001
Packet received between
10/6 and 10/12: +$5 per day
Packet received between
10/13 and 10/19: +10 per day
No packet by 10/20:
Tournament director's discretion to allow the team to
play

Division II
First Team: $75
Each additional team:
$60

Discounts to both divisions:
Experienced Moderator:
-$10
Buzzer: -$10
Travelling more than 500 miles:
-$15
First appearance at the TIT: -$15
More than two
years since you last attended the TIT: -$10

As for Division II, the best way to describe the
question difficulty would be "hard high
school".
