Re: Pepper Ann! (Valedictorians)

Well, at all
the HS I've seen (i.e., that people that I know went
to) valedictorian goes to the person(s) with the
highest GPA. The popularity contest down here seems to be
class president, or maybe student council
representative/president.

One other outlet for the most popular students at
U.S. schools - homecoming king/queen and the
homecoming court. This brings up a couple of questions from
me, though..do Canadian (and high schools in other
countries) have homecoming ceremonies?

For those of
you who went to high schools without football teams,
did you observe homecoming with other sporting events
at the center of the festivities (i.e. soccer,
basketball, hockey)?

"homecoming opponent" has made its way into anyone's lexicon
when referring to drawing a lightly regarded team near
the middle of your tournament schedule.
