That's a thought...even though physical sciences
and math make up such a small chunk of the percentage
of degrees awarded, the vast majority of physics &
chemistry people, and I think most biology and math people,
along with everyone who goes through med school, is in
academia for at least six years, while, say, history or
education or philosophy majors turn into butterflies and go
out into the real world (or law school). Maybe that
accounts for the 4/4 or more in the
distribution?
