Re: Majors and Distribution

Another simple answer:

In 4 years of
college prep high school curriculum one takes:

4
Years English
3-4 Years Science
3 Years of Social
Science/History
3-4 Years of Mathematics
And whatever else you can
pile on as electives.

Collegiate quiz bowl is
like high school quiz bowl, but only with more
difficult subject matter; many additional subjects are
given under the headings of social science and history
and electives not covered in high school (ie
sociology, anthropology, art history, classical music
history etc.) and thus are included in the distribution,
but computational math such as algebra is not taught
at the college level and is reduced to a
science.

College Quiz Bowl mirrors what we learn in high school,
only with additional collegiate subjects. It is only
fitting, since high school attempts to give all of its
students an equal foundation of education. The "canon" of
high school curriculum is thus applied to
QB.
