Re: ACF superiority

Hi,

I didn't go to the Nov 3 tournament,
but in reading the responses I felt like I had to say
something. I'm all for dividing ACF. For those who have been
on the circuit for many years and have chewed up
teams like DPU, bravo. However, keep in mind that you
were once a newbie too. I think there should be a
place where teams can play against those of the same
skill level, and gradually progress to the status of
the gods of QB that we all admire. You can't expect
the average QB undergrad just starting out to be able
to sucessfully compete with A teams. Losing is all
part of the game and a learning experience I know, and
playing against advanced teams is a great learning
experience, but I can testify that it does get old even if
your team works hard.

Being a member of the
DePauw team, I personally took insult to "An accessible
set means that when the tossup goes to an end, DePauw
C has heard the answer." Ouch. Salt in a wound,
pal. We are aware that we are not nearly the best team
on the planet, and we are not looking for handouts
or painfully easy questions. I don't believe Stan
said that we were divinely entitled to win games
without effort. We're just an example of one of those
darn newbie teams that always get slaughtered. I think
other newbie teams would agree that the option of being
able to enter a tournament with the possibility of
positively competing against other teams and being able to
beat a team other then their B team would be
appreciated.
